Completed Edges : Each piece has completely painted edges, which means that they can be left unframed if desired.
All of my paintings are stretched and ready to hang on the wall, but a commission can be specifically requested to be un-stretched:
An un-stretched painting means that it's just the canvas and can therefore be rolled up - to make the shipping process easier. This is ideal if you do not live locally as it means that the painting is able to be sent in a small tube as opposed to an extremely large and costly crate. The big question in the art world nowadays - to frame or not to frame? Standard procedure for me when I am commissioned to paint a painting on un-stretched canvas is to allow for some extra space and paint the edges. This means that the picture will continue to wrap around the sides of the wooden stretcher when the painting is finally assembled - just in case the client decides that they prefer the overall effect of a painting without a frame.
